An organization for Unix, Linux and Open Source professionals. As such,
it most certainly has an interest in promoting an event which will lead
to encouraging newcomers to this space.

Mikal mentioned his ideas at a recent meeting and indicated that AUUG
was one of the organizations he thought appropriate to seed the venture.
The idea was favourably received. It's Mikal's show, however, and I hate
to see anyone trying to take away the courage of his enthusiasm.
