Hi all,
The Linux Australia nominations for the 2005 election are only open for
one more week. Check out http://linux.org.au/membership/ and log in to
nominate yourself or someone you'd like to see on the committee. The
last couple of years have seen lots of worthy contestants for the 7
positions in the committee (4 exec and 3 ordinary members) and as our
first online nomination and election we hope to see even more people
nominating and voting.
Any LA member can nominate, be nominated or vote. Membership is free so
if you aren't one yet then sign up at http://linux.org.au/membership/.
Relevant dates:
Dec 12th - Nominations opened for the seven positions and tested. All
nominations must be seconded. A person can nominate themselves.
Jan 5th - All committee reports are posted online, IRC meeting
opened, questions answered by committee.
Jan 8th - Nominations close at midnight and IRC discussion
closed. Logs posted with reports.
Jan 8th - Voting period starts as soon as nominations close -
this is completely online, you will need your name and membership
number. This can be acquired from the membership page
(http://linux.org.au/membership/)
Jan 15th - Voting period stops, results announced on mailing
lists, and any discussions taken to linux-aus mailing list.
The LA AGM has been delayed, and the date will be announced on Monday as
soon as it is confirmed. It will also be announced with the required
notice.
Linux Australia will still be giving a presentation at linux.conf.au as
to the status or Linux Australia and cool stuff coming up at the time.
Thankyou all and good luck!
