Here are some:
o The membership management very closely follows the membership
application, renewal and maintenance processes for OpenSkills. I would
not expect the work flows in the MMS to apply to any other organisation.
o It's all written in Smalltalk, which I know very well.
o The design and large parts of the implementation were in place while
you were working on MemberDB.
In short - we have nothing against the MemberDB - honestly.

Not at this stage, no ... but neither would I recommend the OpenSkills
membership system to LA.

Well, for a start, it would need to be able to run in the GemStone
OODBMS, and so would have to be written in Smalltalk. The current MMS
runs in a stand-alone Smalltalk environment now, but I expect that we'll
move to GemStone as things have to be scaled up.
I hope that we have not caused offence with our choices.
All the best,
Bruce
