The ALP have signalled their intention to smack it down in its current
form due to its adverse effect on the PBS, and also because the
copyright extensions would cost Australia $700m/yr, according to their
bean-counters. Apparently we would end up gaining maybe $50m/yr at best,
as opposed to a couple of billion per year. This made them not
particularly well-disposed to the FTA as a whole.
