For a long time I have advocated that this list be closed so that
only subscribers can post to it - especially to stop the spam that
appears here on a fairly regular basis.

I know that others with more influence than me have advocated
otherwise (and for valid reasons), but I would still personally
prefer to see this happen to linux-aus.  In fact I personally
wouldn't mind if the list was fully moderated, but for many here
this would be going a bit too far :)
