[Linux-aus] Question on FOSS industry sector size

I have the following question posed to me by a government IT policy 
staffer:

 "How big is the Australian Open Source industry, both indigenous and 
 multi-national"

As a gnomon, we have about 40 firms represented on Open Source Victoria,
and about the same number of non-incorporated FOSS IT professionals.

I have my number guesstimation, but I need others to provide me with 
theirs. 

I need your analysis and methodology by later today.
