My understanding was one of the major reasons that Sun went System V for 
Solaris was for the SMP scalability. Apparently SunOS's MP didn't quite cut 
it.

Yeah, I remember getting 4.1.3_u1 and then being extremely happy to receive 
4.1.4 and hoping that Sun would get the message and a 4.1.5 would appear. Oh 
well, at least now there's a variety of Linux and *BSD's for their hardware.
