[Linux-aus] SQL

[smckenzie - optushome]

I am not going to get in a debate about which is better. Because the reality
of the situtation is mysql is better as some things, postgress is better at
others.

This is also true for Linux vs Windows vs OpenBSD vs etc... They all have
there pros and cons, and closing your self off to one is nothing more than
an effective way of limiting your options. I am a software whore I will use
what ever does the current job the best.

I have had to teach people (developers) with limited SQL knowledge (like the
guy who asked the question) with both mysql and postgress. I have just
noticed people pick up MySql quicker.

Just for the record, I only ever use the command-line :)
