About the Role:
Maintains and enhances the Geological Survey of NSW online information systems including spatial and aspatial databases, server software for data management and custom services residing in the AWS cloud.  The role improves accessibility of information through the use of modern practices, interoperability standards/protocols and open source technologies to support the provision of geological data to the mining/exploration industry, government and community.  
 To be successful in the role, ideally you will have:
Drive to maintain awareness of developing technologies, IT best practice standards and changing solution environments.
Technical expertise to contribute to system design
Demonstrated ability in supporting and troubleshooting production systems
Experience in working with spatial data, and the visualisation and processing of scientific datasets
Enjoy working a small dynamic team, be self-motivated and a systematic problem solver
Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or related discipline and/or equivalent experience
Essential requirements:
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in modern programming languages eg.Python, Javascript, TypeScript, and web user interface development, open source software and production environments.
Experience in Linux platform development, open source software and production environments.
Linux administration skills.
