Job description:
We are currently looking for a Geoscience Data Systems Developer who maintains and enhances the Geological Survey of NSW public information systems including spatial and aspatial databases, server software for data management and custom services residing in the AWS cloud. 
The role improves accessibility of data using open source technologies and interoperability standards/protocols to support the provision of geological data to the public.
To be successful in the role, ideally you will have:
·       Expertise in Linux, python and Angular
·       Experience or knowledge of core AWS services
·       Enjoy working in a small dynamic teams on a variety of projects
·       Be self-motivated and a systematic problem solver
·       Have technical expertise to contribute to system design
·       Demonstrated ability in supporting and troubleshooting production systems
·       Experience or willingness to learn about working with spatial data, and the visualisation and processing of scientific datasets
·       Drive to maintain awareness of developing technologies, IT best practice standards and changing solution environments
·       Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or related discipline and/or equivalent experience
