The Opportunity

AARNet are offering a Full Time position for an experienced Linux Systems  
Administrator based in our Brisbane office at Milton. Joining the Systems  
Administration Team, you will provide support of Linux oriented server,  
desktop, appliance and other equipment located (across the network) at AARNet  
offices and facilities.

     Full time permanent position

Responsibilities

     Lead new developments & deployments from the systems perspective by  
coordinating with customers & internal departments
     Daily monitoring & maintenance of systems, servers & services, for  
correct functionality & optimum performance
     Test & apply new software, maintenance patches & configuration changes  
using change & version control tools
     Plan, build & integrate new services to informed SLA's

Related Experience

     8+ years Linux Server administration experience
     5+ years Red Hat Enterprise Linux experience
     Red Hat Certification Engineering experience is preferred
     Good knowledge of containerisation technologies & version control
     Ability to work with continuous integration technologies
     Ability to gather requirements, design & implement appropriate solutions
     Strong process oriented experience in terms of implementation &  
completion

Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required

     Strong knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux Servers
     Strong working knowledge of storage technologies & environments
     High Availability & failover scenarios, load balanced environments
     Software experience with Ansible, Elastic Search, Atlassian, Docker,  
GitHub, SVN, Jenkins, LDAP, Radius, Bind
     Familiar with Zabbix, Nagios &/or Icinga monitoring systems
     Troubleshooting including performance monitoring & optimisation
     Disaster recovery
     Familiar with databases
     Ability to work both autonomously & within a team
     Excellent interpersonal & communication (verbal & written) skills
     Ability to prioritise workload
     Attention to detail

Conditions of Employment

The role is a permanent position and will commence with a probation period.   
Remuneration will be based on the experience of applicants and prevailing  
market rates plus a generous superannuation package. This position may  
include some out of hours work.
