The organisation is a vibrant software company specializing in the
development of commercial grade wireless networking devices for a number of
IoT (Internet of Things) applications. In addition they develop, market, and
support software applications that provide advanced network monitoring and
commercial grade software products. With a flat structure, open door policy
and ability to interact with other departments, this role will allow you the
independence and opportunity to execute your own solutions. Being an Agile
environment, they are quick to react and push relevant products out to market
where there is sufficient demand.
The Role
Reporting to the Development Manager, you will focus on researching and
building solutions in C and web browser / scripting languages (e.g.
JavaScript and other similar languages). You will build real time, mission
critical solutions which leverage the cloud and a range of other
technologies. The development is to both support both enterprise users and
the internal business as well as for the solutions that the company develops
and sells.
Responsibilities
- C programming – development and enhancement of web applications built on
Linux platforms
- Programming in web browser and scripting languages (e.g. LUA, JavaScript,
JQuery or others)
- Typical projects include – Development of remote management protocols,
network performance management tools and infrastructure monitoring software
(e.g. gathering data and statistics on virtual and physical servers).
- Some cloud development – Automate deployment and manage solutions in both
AWS & Azure clouds
- Some Dev Ops – automate the delivery of custom applications
Experience with the following technologies is required:
- Internet Protocols (e.g. DHCP, IPSec, SSL, VPN, QoS, routing protocols and
others)
- Socket programming
- Leveraging cloud technology -
- Linux and passion for open source technologies
- Bonus points for individuals that have contributed to open source projects
or have embarked on meaningful projects that are well described on their
GitHub account
