This is a great opportunity for a talented, Java and jQuery developer to join  
New Zealand's largest open source company. Come and work on challenging and  
interesting projects with a team of committed and skilled open source  
developers.

While Java is the language around which this team is centred, a range of  
other modern technologies are used including jQuery, Scala, and Ruby. Spring  
MVC is the primary Java framework in use within the team.You are confident in  
working with Java and following best practice approaches to building Java  
business applications. Whether working independently or as part of a team,  
you are hell bent on delivering outstanding results for our clients.


Required skills and experience:

     2+ years of Java experience in the real world

     Strong general programming / computer science skills

     Experience working with databases and the business logic layer

     Good working knowledge of HTML/CSS

     Demonstrated experience with JavaScript (ideally jQuery)

     Solid written and verbal communications skills in English

     A commitment to open source


Desired skills and experience:

     Scala, Enterprise Service Bus, or Alfresco experience

     Good knowledge of GNU/Linux

     Experience with continuous integration and automated testing

     Experience with designing and implementing system architectures

     Experience working on large and mission-critical applications or websites
