We are currently looking for a lead engineer/system administrator for our
hosting team.
This team is responsible for maintaining our hosted search infrastructure,
which responds to more than a million search requests per day for Funnelback
customers ranging from universities, large corporations and government
departments.
Some of your other responsibilities would be:
*Proposing, planning, and implementing projects to improve our hosted
infrastructure, including expanding into new countries
*Providing hosted infrastructure support for our customer implementation team
*Building and analysing application metrics as input for improving our core
search engine
*Mentoring and developing the skills of other Funnelback team members
Here’s some of skills and knowledge you would need handy for this role:
*3-5 years’ experience managing software and infrastructure for high-volume
web applications
*Extensive experience using Linux (CentOS) and puppet to securely manage
highly available, high performance web applications.
*Experience with Nagios, nginx, Apache, Java Application Servers, Scripting
languages, KVM, IP, DNS, HTTP and Firewalls
*Some background in software development practices (design, architecture,
version control, unit testing, etc.)
*Excellent written & communication skills
*Qualifications in Computer Science, Engineering or similar
And for bonus points, you’d have:
*Some development experience with Go
*Advanced networking (BGP, switch configuration, etc.) skills.
