Senior Linux Performance Engineer
You are a highly skilled engineer who is passionate about reducing latency  
and improving the success of our trading systems. You are an expert in Linux,  
networking and server hardware and have a background in performance  
measurement and tuning. You have excellent written and verbal communication  
and a willingness to share your knowledge and performance findings.

Your Profile

You love tuning technology at a system level
You are passionate about open source technology and hardware
You are able to clearly articulate ideas and turn them into real concepts.

Responsibilities
Optimize our Linux platform and provide recommendation on system  
configuration
Work with third party vendors and arrange testing, analysis and  
recommendations on cutting edge technology
Profile, monitor, and benchmark our trading system in a lab environment.  
Tweaking, replacing or removing components to improve performance
Liaise with our developers on how their software can be designed and  
optimised for low latency making full use of the hardware available
Create in-depth reports/benchmarks/test results and to be able to drive your  
new initiatives into production
Tune the network, memory and disk subsystems for optimal performance
Requirements
Strong coding or scripting ability (C, C++, Java, Bash, Python, Kernel  
development experience is a plus)
Strong analytical skills including the ability to collect data, establish  
facts, and arrive at valid conclusions.
In depth knowledge of *nix systems
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
3-5 years of commercial experience in a performance critical environment
