In this role you will be responsible for leading a growing team of 10 site  
reliability engineers / trading system engineers. This team is one of two  
core trading system engineering teams responsible for managing the end-to-end  
technical trading environment. The role is responsible for planning &  
deployment of changes, monitoring and management of the live environment,  
root cause analysis and problem resolution as well as continuous improvement  
activities etc.


We’re looking for someone who has the passion for and the experience of  
managing a mid-sized team of highly technical engineers. You’ll come from a  
technical background ideally within IT Operations however; a solid background  
in system administration, software development or networking will also be  
considered. You’re a team player who thrives in a fast-paced, customer  
focused environment which is more agile than i is processed.


This is a key leadership role within the business and we want someone with  
demonstrated people and organizational management skills as well as strong  
technical experience.

Desired Skills and Experience
Skills and experience:


• 5+ years’ experience leading and managing a technical team (Ideally IT  
Operations)
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage stakeholders. In this case,  
your key stakeholders whom you will engage with every day will include  
traders, developers and engineers from our operations team.
• Solid organisational management experience – resource planning,  
recruitment, on-boarding, coaching and mentoring.
• Strong technical background with the ability to understand complex  
technical infrastructure architecture.
• Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written. You will also  
have the ability to clearly articulate technical ideas.
• Experience with change management, ITIL and distributed systems would be  
highly regarded. As would experience working in the trading industry.
You will be responsible for creating and maintaining a high performance  
environment (whilst still being fun), growing and scaling the team in line  
with business demands and improving operational excellence.
