What you will do in this role:
You will be leading the Technical Operations team for BigCommerce, our SaaS
e-commerce platform with almost 20,000 clients around the world. The IT
Infrastructure Manager / IT Systems Manager (Linux/Unix) role will combine
your passions for technology, project management and leadership making you an
integral part of our small, but growing Sydney-based Engineering team.
You’ll have more than 5 years hands on experience managing high performing
Technical Operations teams supporting, high traffic, 24x7 availability,
client-facing mission critical systems. While you are more than capable of
diving into the technical details, you are also a top-notch project manager
who enjoys managing and mentoring great technical talent and driving them and
our software towards continual improvement.
To be a good fit for this role, you should have:
*5+ years experience managing high performance technical operations teams
*5+ years of demonstrable hands-on experience in the SaaS software, web
hosting (or similar) industry
*Excellent project management, organization skills and planning abilities
*Detail and process-oriented with the ability to analyze, document and
improve current processes and workflows
*Previously responsibility for 24x7 availability of internal and
client-facing mission critical systems and software
*The ability to hire A-players and build high performance teams
*Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor/train technical teams
*Experience working with geographically dispersed technical and management
teams
*A problem solving attitude with a focus on solutions - "I can fix anything"
*Strong communication skills both face-to-face and via email/phone/video
conference
*Effective cost centre management and budgetary control experience
*A proven track record of change improvement meeting strategic objectives
