Demand for custom application development and automation has reached new  
heights and we are looking for enthusiastic and accomplished PHP and/or Perl  
Developers to evangelise and develop systems automation for our existing  
National Network.

This is an opportunity for you to utilise all your skills, accumulated over  
years in the industry, in one challenging position whilst designing and  
building automation for the Telco.

Automation and Innovation – You will, in conjunction with other Systems and  
Network engineers, be responsible for and assist in designing, building and  
developing tools and systems to drive efficiency through the National Network  
Operation Centre.
This will involve driving the research and development team to identify new  
products and innovative tools and technology through the business.  Above  
all, you will enjoy dealing with new technologies and using your skills to  
drive automation.

Linux Systems Admin – A small percentage of time will be based around  
streamlining Linux Systems administration and associated automation and  
upkeep.
This role will be technically challenging and expose you to a wide variety of  
technologies and processes including, Cisco/Juniper network technology,  
amongst many others.

You must have:

     * Extensive Perl and/or PHP Experience
     * Database experience with PostgreSQL / MySQL
     * Systems Administration skills
     * Understanding of networking
     * Ability to autonomously manage day-to-day client and technical issues
     * Clear, confident communication skills with a passion for service  
excellence

  Experience and skills in the following would be beneficial:

     * IP Subnetting
     * Cisco/Juniper/Netscreen skills
     * IP Security
     * Ruby or other similar linux based coding skills
     * GNU tool sets
     * GNU tools and other network based tools such as  
Nagios/Radiator/Cacti/Redmine/IPPlan/Nessus
     * Understanding of Billing systems / CDR feeds and the like
     * Experience with Netflow
     * VoIP/SIP technologies


Additionally, you will require a good understanding of the concepts of object  
oriented programming on an enterprise scale. Exposure to formal development  
methodologies including agile development techniques will be an advantage.
