===================
The Bureau is seeking an experienced, certified systems administrator to join
a team of experienced AIX, Linux and VMware administrators responsible for
managing the Bureau’s national forecasting systems infrastructure. The
supported environment includes 12 highly available clusters (AIX, Red Hat
Linux, VMware and some Veritas) that run mission critical forecasting systems
and regional Storage Area Networks.
The team has just commenced a major new project to replace all interstate AIX
systems with virtualised Linux clusters. Occasional interstate travel may be
required and there are opportunities for international travel from time to
time. We are looking for someone willing to take a lead role in ensuring
industry best practice is followed in the installation, configuration, and
management of hardware and software for the Red Hat Linux and VMware
computing environment.
Relevant tertiary qualifications, along with Red Hat Linux and VMware
certifications, will be highly regarded.
