Research Engineer, Contract

National ICT Australia is advertising a RE position on the Office in a Box project. 

Accountabilities and Associated Responsibilities: 
• Linux configuration of different hardware platforms;  
• Programming, documentation and testing of developed software; 
• System integration and software maintenance. 

Essential Requirements: 
• Graduate qualification in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with software development experience. 
• Linux developer skills, shell scripting. 
• Demonstrated programming skills and knowledge of version control systems i.e. cvs/svn. 
• Highly self-motivated and willing to learn new technology. 

Desirable Requirements: 
• Experience relevant to the team’s R&D area including network protocols, VoIP. 
• Linux administrator skills
• Experience and contribution to Open source projects
