Software Developer (C/C+)

We are an Australian IT company providing innovative software solutions to telecommunications carriers and we are looking for young and energetic university graduates or experienced professionals to join our team. If you have a genuine interest in developing a career in this industry and enjoy facing challenges to grow with the team, then this could be the job youre looking for.
Minimum requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Telecommunications/Computer/Electrical Engineering with at least a credit average
* Proficient in C and/or C++
* Can comfortably work on UNIX environments
* Genuine interest in UNIX systems programming
* Genuine interest in building a career in software development and the telecommunications industry
* Familiarity with the software development life cycle
* Exposure to Java and object-oriented programming
* Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
* Good communication skills
Additional skills that would be advantageous:
* University subjects on networking and telecommunications
* Commercial or personal (like open source projects) experience
* Exposure or experience with UNIX systems programming (specifically POSIX threads, socket programming and debugging with GDB)
* Exposure or experience with HP-UX and/or Linux (or any other UNIX system)
* Exposure or experience with any database systems
What this role will involve (first 3 points below will take 90% of your time):
* Software development primarily in C/C++ with the occasional Java
* Research on new technologies and how to apply them. You will be exposed to technologies in the telco industry that you will have to learn so you must have good grounding in networking or telecommunications.
* Technical analysis, design, testing, documentation
* Support at the developer level
Salary is to be negotiated and will be dependent on qualifications and experience.
