Your primary responsibilities will include:

• To work within the National Network Operations Centre and be a part of the growth, support and ongoing management of a large carrier National Network.
• Be hands on and practical with constant exposure to new technologies.
• Supporting / installed and managing large Firewall Deployments
• Supporting and managing a Large Linux Server deployment nationally
• Problem solving complicated faults.

The candidates we seek will possess the following core capabilities:

• Extensive Linux Experience.
• Scripting Experience in the following areas:
   • Bash
   • Perl
   • Python
   • Ruby
• Knowledge of MTA’s
• Good understanding of TCP/IP
• Solid understanding of Firewalls and Security:
   • Security best practices
   • vulnerability scanning
   • DoS / SYN / honey pot / spoofing attack principles
   • Packet Filtering
   • Application Proxy
   • Session based firewalls
• Solid understanding of Linux and network applications:
   • Netflow
   • Tacacs / Radius / Radiator
   • NTP / Syslog
   • Apache
   • Bind / DNS Cache
   • PostGreSQL  / MySQL
   • Sendmail  / Postfix
• Experience with corporate grade Spam Filtering products
• Professional, effective and timely approach to Project Management/Co-ordination
• Ability to work with the minimum of supervision and on own initiative
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills to identify opportunities for improvement
• Employ a collaborative approach to work with the ability to delegate effectively 
• Good customer relationships and customer feedback.  Able to build and maintain relationships with customers and staff
• Good verbal and written communication skills.  Able to effectively convey SecureTelecom information in both written and verbal business discussions
• Good influencing skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a demanding environment
• Excellent decision making / problem solving skills
• Ability to implement and manage change
• Good commercial awareness 

The following experience is also desirable:

• 2 years ISP / Telecommunications experience
• Red Hat certification/enterprise experience
