Database Expert, Contract

My client, a hugely successful and rapidly expanding leading international software company is in need of a Database Expert with experience in Linux/BSD.


Working in a small team, you will be responsible for designing, creating and implementing database then handing it over to IT for management.

Technical requirements of the role are:
* Experience working with clustered databases, preferably MySQL or PostgreSQL
* Excellent database design and administration skills
* Commercial experience with Linux/BSD

Essential attributes
* Ability to plan, implement and manage a huge data store in geographically disperse environment, with high redundancy and expandability
* Sound technical knowledge to fully develop solutions for projects with a high degree of complexity
* Enthusiastic and highly motivated with a positive attitude
* Demonstrated ability to solve problems
* Excellent written and spoken communication skills
* Analytical and logical approach to all issues and problems
* Ability to work under pressure, achieve deadlines and effectively prioritise multiple, concurrent tasks.
