<p>This excellent company seeks a highly competent Oracle DBA and Unix Systems Administrator to join a growing dynamic team maintaining company mission critical systems. There is a possibility of the role expanding to include some SQL Server DBA duties down the track. <p> This job will primarily be providing Linux systems support as the resident Linux expert as well as administering a number of OLTP RAC Oracle databases running on top of Redhat Linux OS on DELL hardware. <p> The person will eventually be required to provide 24x7 support according to roster. </p> 
<p> 
Responsibilities will include:<ul><li> 
Manage the installation, configuration, maintenance, verification and implementation of required operating system software 
</li><li> Troubleshoot operating system issues in an oracle database environment 
</li><li> Administration of oracle databases 
</li><li> Production deployment of Java Application and managing production JBoss servers 
</li><li> Rostered after hours On Call support 
</li><li> Provide ongoing improvement of production support change management processes and standards 
</li></ul> 
</p> 
You must also possess the ability to effectively deal with people and projects at all levels, be flexible and able to work independently.</p> 
 
<p>It is mandatory that you have the following:-<ul> 
<li>Approximately 4 years experience as an Oracle DBA role including versions 9 and 10.</li> 
<li>Approximately 4 years Unix systems administration, preferably Linux Red Hat. </li> 
<li> At least 2 years shell scripting (bash/korn) experience</li> 
<li> Excellent documentation skills (eg technical and project implementation plans)</li> 
<li>Experience with Database and SQL performance tuning.</li> 
<li>A successful track record with a corporation in a similar role. </li> 
<li>Excellent verbal and written communication as well as interpersonal skills .</li> 
<li>Deliverables-orientation and ability to work under pressure.</li> </ul> 
 
<p>Your experience with following would be highly regarded:- 
<ul><li>Backup and recovery.</li> 
<li>DataGuard</li> 
<li>PL/SQL stored procedure development.</li> 
<li>Oracle Real Application Clustering (RAC) and deploying database across Multiple Servers. </li> 
<li>Bind, Apache, Jboss, Tomcat, NFS, FTP, SSH, Samba, Sendmail, NTP, CVS</li> 
<li>SAN experience</li> 
<li>SQL Server experience</li> 
<li>Dell Hardware maintenance and configuration</li>
