Support Analyst & Developer, Full Time

45-56K + super + mobile phone + laptop + ADSL

High end IT Security Consultancy requires keen and creative Linux and Open Source programmer to assist with supporting managed customers. The role requires the monitoring and management of support systems and delivery to ensure SLAs are met. This includes the collection of data from remote appliances, responding to level 1 incidents and co-ordinating the preparation and delivery of monthly reports. The second part of the role is to develop the open source systems to deliver these services seamlessly to the client, research and develop new features and generate ideas for new products.

Ideally you will be tertiary qualified in Computer Science or IT and have work experience that demonstrates your ability to meet deadlines. Candidates without tertiary qualifications that can demonstrate their technical knowledge and ability to deliver will be considered.

Required technical skills; -

Linux / Open Source development (C, C++ and scripting e.g. Bash/PERL)
TCP/IP and basic networking
IT Security fundamentals

Desirable skills; - 

Knowledge of other open source products e.g. Apache, MySQL, PHP.

This a position with excellent long-term career prospects in a consultancy that operates in some of the largest corporate organisations in Australia. The role could progress into further Open Source research and development or IT Security Engineer.
