Dot Communications (http://www.dot.com.au) is an established software and services company with over 14 years experience in the provision of market leading internet application and networking solutions to Australia's largest carriers, ISPs and other service providers. Headquartered in Sydney, we require a Junior Systems Administrator. This is a challenging role that will require innovative and creative thinking. Package range of $30k to $50k based on experience.

We're looking for hard-core *nix enthusiasts who have their own home network providing DNS, webhosting, mailhosting and transparent web proxying for you and your cats in a one bedroom unit.

THE ROLE

*) Reports directly to both the Systems Manager
*) Requires proven experience in customer advocacy, and demonstrated skills in understanding customer needs
*) 2+ years experience in the fields of Systems Administration & Customer Support is required
*) Familiarity with networking, routing and various internet protocols
*) Ability to code, script and hack in several languages
*) Timely resolution of customer issues and requirements including both written and verbal feedback
*) Demonstrated experience or knowledge in the setup & maintenance of ISP related servers (POP3, IMAP, SMTP etc)

YOU

*) Have several *NIX servers at home
*) Don`t mind working hard and can troubleshoot anything technical
*) Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
*) Enjoy working in a friendly yet dynamic environment
*) Have experience in the Internet industry and related services
*) Prefer to work autonomously and enjoy responsibility
*) Pride yourself on attention to detail
*) Have experience in the Internet industry and related services
*) Can handle yourself with various types of Nerf weaponry
