Linux Application Developer, Full Time

Excellent opportunity exists within this small but growing IT organisation for a Linux Application Developer located in the heart of the Sydney CBD.<BR>

Hours will be between 08h00 and 17h00, on a full-time basis. Some after hours work will be required.<BR>

We require a Linux Application Developer for the ongoing development of our perimeter security product range. We are looking for strong system programming and web programming skills.<BR>

You must be highly competent in a Unix/C environment and whilst being part of a small team, must be capable of developing quality solutions autonomously.<BR>

This role will give the right person an opportunity to experience a wide array of technologies and also to strongly contribute to the company's future technological direction.<BR>

<B>Essential</B>
<UL TYPE="DISC">
<LI>computer science degree or other engineering discipline
<LI>2+ years application development using open source tools
<LI>C/Python
<LI>solid understanding of network protocols
<LI>understanding of internet security issues
</UL>
<BR>
<B>Desirable</B>
<UL TYPE="DISC">
<LI>Zope/Plone Experience
<LI>Solid understanding of RPM packaging
<LI>Perl/Shell scripting
<LI>SNORT deployment experience
</UL>

This role will require customer focus and will require a strong communicator to manage clients effectively.
