Systems Administrator, Full Time

We are rolling out a unique and exciting new concept in digital television.

Our startup company requires an experienced systems administrator to help us
deploy a number of Linux servers and a few Windows work stations at our
mission control central.

The following skills are required for the job:

(*) Linux work stn and server install, admin, update, maintain
    (which distro? let's discuss)

(*) Apache / mod_perl / mysql or postgresql administration

(*) email serving (software not yet decided) / email filtering
    using FOSS AV products, spam detection, etc.etc.

(*) firewalling and NAT (using Linux and/or dedicated hardware)

(*) internal DNS using bind

(*) very comfortable working in the shell, with the usual lineup
    of GNU commands

And the following skills would be most advantageous to securing this position:

(*) familiarity with web proxy (squid) install and config

(*) tape-based (or optical) backup system

(*) perl scripting / some C programming


Ability to manage tight deadlines, initiative, flexibility and good communications
skills are a must.
