Mindful of the short leadtime for the proposed event, the Linux Australia<br>
Council held a preliminary discussion about this grant application at its<br>
meeting on 21 June 2023.  The comprehensive application clearly explained<br>
all aspects of the event, who the organisers were and how the funding would<br>
be used.  Council noted the positive feedback received about the proposal on<br>
the Grants list and how well the proposal fitted with the Community Grant<br>
concept.  It was unanimously resolved to approve the grant request subject<br>
to further community comments if any were received before the closing of the<br>
consultation period.<br>

The community consultation for this grant has now closed with no further<br>
comments received.  We are therefore pleased to inform you that the grant<br>
application has been approved - congratulations!<br>

The grant is to cover the expenses as outlined in the original grant<br>
application[1].  Please email the Linux Australia treasurer<br>
(<a href="mailto:treasurer@linux.org.au" target="_blank">treasurer@linux.org.au</a>) to arrange the required payments.<br>
<br>
As outlined in the grant guidelines, Linux Australia request that you<br>
provide a brief report about the event funded by this grant for inclusion in<br>
our Annual Report.  We ask that this be sent via email to<br>
<a href="mailto:council@linux.org.au" target="_blank">council@linux.org.au</a> by the end of November to allow sufficient time for its<br>
incorporation into the report.  The grant application indicated that it is<br>
planned to have photographs taken at the event, and it would be great if<br>
some of these could be included in your report (subject to photographic<br>
consents).<br>
