[Grants] Grant Application from Lyndsey Jackson for Big Sand Band - Regional SA

Dear Grants List,

I am writing this in my capacity as an LA member providing feedback on a 
grant request.

This grant proposal is well thought through and well costed. It is 
linked to LA's core values of building open technology and open culture, 
with the added benefit of reaching regional participants and 
communities. The costs here all seem appropriate, and inclusive of costs 
that make the project workable - such as a per diem.

Yes, this is a little out of the box, but I am also pleased to see 
something like this come through as a Grant request - the Grants program 
enables this sort of risk-taking.

I would appreciate more information on the artefacts that Sally Coleman 
will be producing.

I also note that Unity is not free and open source software - it is free 
to use, but not is not open source [0]. Is there a possibility of the 
artefacts being produced in something that is free and open source like 
Blender?

> Project team details: Lyndsey Jackson is the lead volunteer and agitator trying to bring something cool to her small town, and to build ideas that can be shared by others. Lyndsey has been working with open source technologies for over 15 years, and involved in many communities such as drupal, govhack, open ag. Lyndsey has previously been the Chair of EFA and is committed to digital rights. I've also spoken at linux conf twice :)
