This month, I will be talking about building a test harness for obtuse Debian
packages.

Lintian's job is to check your package for simple errors, like a lack of
a manpage, or bashisms in your maintainer scripts, and so on, but it
can't guarantee that your package will upgrade cleanly from all previous
   versions.

This isn't much of a problem when your package is a simple binary only
package that builds from "configure; make", but when you start doing
interesting things such as creating installers for 3rd party data with
multiple installation options, you can very easily lose control and
introduce new and exciting bugs into the package. Using a test harness
helps you identify points of failure before you upload, thus reducing the
number of bugs filed against you and keeping your Debian karma up.

Don't forget to bring your GPG keys (keys are good and need signing) and
your pool skillz.

Where: Woolloomooloo Bay Hotel - boardroom (upstairs)
When: Wednesday, 13th of February 19:00 - 20:00
Cost: $0,
      $10 if you pre-order tea/coffee
Misc: Dinner, alcohol are available
Park: - Lincoln Cr (recommended, open til late)
      - Domain (closes 21:00) or
      - Beside the Bells Hotel

Now with added secure and midnight-closing parking in Lincoln Cr, across
the road from the hotel.

All day parking costs $7 so Craige hazards a guess that an hour or two will
not cost you much.

Upcoming Speakers Include:
  * March: Tony Green on Linux, Debian and the iPaq.
