Hello all,

Welcome to our latest newcomers and linux newbies. 

Hope this list serves you well, and may you use it to ask linux questions or
questions about Computerbank systems. When reporting errors, please try to be
as specific as possible.

Some tips for newbies...

Use HELP, read help, and read error messages for clues on how to solve your
problem or for how to get an inkling on where to start looking.

Check what you are typing, often typo's (typing errors) can mean that your
email won't end up being sent to the person you intended. It may not even
come back as a bounced email (eg: an email that says recipient is unknown at
this address) - it all depends on how your ISP and the recipients ISP is
configured. Check spelling and check that you have the persons email address
typed correctly.

All email addresses must contain an @ symbol, if it ain't got an @ in it - it
ain't an email address. Email addresses are case insensitive - this means
they can be in upper or lower or even a mixture of case - they work whichever
way you like - as long as they have an @!.

Domain names (website addresses) are separated by . (dots) and not ,
(commas). Check this as this is a common typo.

If you publish your email address on PUBLIC websites - expect to start
receiving a lot of email from all over the place. This email - otherwise
known as SPAM - can end up being quite bothersome and it takes up space on
your hdd if not deleted. SPAM email is practically unavoidable - but there
are ways to minimise the amount you receive. Keep a low NET profile and think
about where you are publishing your details. :)
