JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: ICT Technician
Designation: T2
Work Unit: Yuendumu School
Position Number: 30737
Responsible To: Principal

Primary Objective
As a member of the school administration team, provide ICT support to 
students and staff.

Context Statement
Yuendumu is a Warlpiri speaking community located 290 km northwest of 
Alice Springs. Yuendumu School has an enrolment of approximately 200 
students from Preschool to Year 12. The ICT Technician is expected to 
provide both students and staff with ICT support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide initial contact and resolution of software and hardware 
problems experienced by users operating the school’s computers, 
operating systems, applications and LAN.
2. Manage and administer LAN, including electronic mail and ensure all 
services are available to staff and students at all times.
3. Manage school telephone system.
4. Provide ICT support to students and staff in the classroom.
5. Under the direction of senior staff, maintain the school’s website.

Selection Criteria
Essential:
1. Current Working with Children Clearance.
2. An ability to interact effectively with people from different cultures.
3. Experience in information technology network support and problem 
resolution and in PC hardware and software.
4. Well developed interpersonal skills including the ability to 
communicate effectively at all levels, work with minimal direction, 
determine work priorities, organise work flow to meet deadlines and work 
as part of a team.
5. Knowledge of the operation of interactive whiteboards as a 
student/teacher learning tool.
6. Demonstrated strong work ethic, which includes the use of initiative, 
sound judgement and understanding of confidentiality and security as it 
relates to this position.

Desirable:
1. Knowledge of and experience working in a school environment.
2. Experience in Mac hardware and software.
3. Qualifications in the area of information technology.
