>From an international speaker's perspective, I would find that having the
conference from time to time in NZ would be interesting, or perhaps to have
two conferences at about the same time, one at some city in NZ and one at
some city in AU.  After all, the leg cramps and real expense come in flying
the OTHER 24 hours.

I started the GREATER New Hampshire Linux User's Group, which (due to the small
size of New Hampshire) often extends down into Massachusetts, over into Vermont
and slightly up into Maine and Canada.  We can (and do) have smaller sub-groups
that meet from time to time, but having the broader view certainly has helped us
get more speakers for our meetings.
