Ninja Programmer, Full Time

Anchor Systems wants YOU! to come drink beer, play fussball, and hack
on automation systems and business logic!

Rather than being stuck in the basement of a multinational, working on
projects that never finish, come and join us!

You'll be working as part of a team of talented sysadmins and support
monkeys on our internal and client-facing systems, where your
contribution will be highly valued.  Under guidance from senior
staff, you'll work with Open Source development tools and methodology.

We have a relaxed and flexible work environment in our new spacious
office in the Sydney CBD; you wear what you like, and whilst our
office hours are 8am until 6pm, as long as you put in 8 hours a day
you can show up as late as midday.  Office perks include a
dual-monitor workstation, a stocked beer fridge, and a cut-throat
office fussball competition.

Anchor is a leading Australian hosting provider based in Sydney,
providing a range of internet services, from domain name
registrations and website hosting, to fully managed services and
co-location.  We've been working at the forefront of web hosting best
practices for 6 years and have a wide and varied client base.

To get the job you'll need:

 * to be passionate about programming!

 If you can demonstrate experience in an open source project, or show
 code examples, or tell us about a really evil yet inspired hack
 you've done, that'd be great.  We want someone who will take pride in
 their creations.

 * a strong work ethic.

 We'll expect you to meet development targets promptly.

 * the ability to work well in a team.

 Strong communication skills and problem solving ability are important
 in this role, especially when working with our support monkeys who
 have a limited vocabulary of shrieks and hollers.

 You'll also have your code reviewed frequently, and be happy to
 review code in return.

 * familiarity with common development methodologies, including:

  * object oriented design

  * bug tracking

  * source code management/version control

  * web application development

  * test driven development

A graduate degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or
equivalent is required.

Salary package: $55k + super
